TRUMPER VICTOR: (1877-1915) Australian Cricketer. An excellent, large vintage signed sepia 17 x 15 photogravure, the classic image depicting Trumper in a full length profile action pose, mid-shot. Photograph by George Beldam and published by the Swan Electric Engraving Company, London, 1st August 1905. Signed ('V. Trumper') by Trumper with his name alone in bold pencil to the lower border. Framed and glazed. A few very minor spots of foxing.

George W. Beldam (1868-1937) English Cricketer and a pioneer of action photography in sport. An exceptional signed image of the Australian cricketer Victor Trumper, recognised as the most stylish and versatile batsman of the Golden Age of Cricket. Trumper had been named Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1903, two years before the present image was produced, and was selected by Neville Cardus as one of the Six Giants of the Wisden Century in 1963 to mark the 100th edition of the almanack.
