Cambridge University Boat Club Head of the River Medal 1922 won by Jesus College Boat Club. In original box and made by Munsey of Cambridge. The Bumps are a set of rowing races, held annually on the River Cam in Cambridge. The ultimate aim is to try and finish Head of the River (also said as gaining the 'Headship'), Notable rowers in the team: Humphrey Blake Playford He rowed in the winning Cambridge crews in the Boat Race in 1920, 1921 and 1922. In July 1921 Playford won the Silver Goblets at Henley in a coxed pair with John Campbell, defeating Guy Oliver Nickalls and Richard Lucas “easily” in the final. He served as President of the Cambridge University Boat Club (C.U.B.C.) from October 1921 - April 1922. S H Heap rowed in the 1923 Boat Race.
