 > DESCRIPTION

A scarce large solid silver twin handled trophy engraved "Donaghadee Golf Club, Captains Prize, 1902, Won By Foster Coates". Hallmarked with the rarer Chester marks for 1902-03 and makers initials "G.N. & R.H." possibly for Nathan and Hayes. Measures 21cm in height and 26cm across the handles (please see image with golf ball to appreciate the size of the trophy). Donaghadee Golf Club in Northern Ireland, was founded in 1899 by Stephen Mccausland and is part links and part parkland. A highly collec and scarce trophy.
